Wildlife Trusts speak out against badger culls
Individual Wildlife Trusts across the country are speaking out on social media against the badger culls.
Many of them are involved in badger vaccination trials, working with local farmers, landowners and groups of volunteers.
The Wildlife Trusts umbrella body, representing 47 Trusts across the UK, published yesterday a comprehensive update on the pilot culls, and clearly outlined their position:
‘The Wildlife Trusts continue to urge the Government to drop badger culling from its bTB strategy and prioritise badger vaccination, alongside a comprehensive package of cattle measures: better biosecurity, stricter movement controls, improved TB testing and development of a cattle vaccine.’
